What the Tech: Google Jobs

However, Google decided to make things easier for job prospects by taking all of the listings from reliable websites and launched an initiative called Google for Jobs. The company has provided open documentation that other firms can use to push their job listings to its search results. It seems as though Google is looking to become the one-stop search engine for all user needs, given recent additions like a travel search tool for flights. At that point, the traditional jobs search websites could find themselves without almost as strong a pitch to jobs-listers or seekers.

"Google for Jobs is already available in English on both desktop and mobile, and according to the folks at LifeHacker, all you have to do to use it is to hope over the search engine's homepage and enter a phrase such as "jobs near me" or "[insert career field here] jobs". For example, someone can look up a job offer on LinkedIn, Monster, WayUp, DirectEmployers, CareerBuilder, Facebook and many others. When you click to obtain more information on the job, you can also see Glassdoor and Indeed ratings for that certain company. Web developers wanting to index their job listings with Google can find more information here.

So if you decide to find your next gig on Google, you'll have a streamlined place to search and AI technology on your side. Using algorithms that have been trained using machine learning, Google is able to trawl through the massive number of job posts and organize them in a way that makes them easy to search for and find. In due course of time, managing login IDs, passwords and digging into various job board sites may be a thing of the past if Google has its say.

Tech giant Google is aiming to make looking for a new job as easy as searching for anything else online. The search results aim at streamlining such listing by eradicating unauthentic jobs posted on different sites. Also, Google is not handling the application process. "Yes, as with anything, there will be some challenges and adjustments to existing job posting sites; the biggest perhaps being for those that are now driven by SEO".
