Vegetable company recalls products across United States, Canada after listeria found

Mann Packing announced the recall on October 19 after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency found one product contaminated in a random sampling. When listeria gets discovered, the recalls come in ripples as all food produced in the same facility around the same time could be infected.

For questions about the overall recall, call Mann Packing at 1-888-470-2681, 24 hours a day.

A major vegetable recall was issued across the country last week amid fears of bacterial contamination. Affected products have a best by date that reads anywhere between October 11th and 20th.

It says there have been no reported illnesses linked to the consumption of the vegetables.

Among the biggest retail recalls, stemming from Mann Packing's, is Meijer's.

Whole Foods recalled Veggie Power Blend, Sesame Chicken Power Salad, and Mexican Chicken Power Salad salads sold by the pound at 10 Northern California stores from September 28 through Friday.

People other than pregnant women: Symptoms can include headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions in addition to fever and muscle aches.

Triple-B is recalling broccoli florets, stir fry kits, veggie trays with cauliflower and veggie pack combos that were sold in store delis in Alaska.

"As the owner of this company and as a mom, providing safe and healthy foods to our consumers and their families is always our top priority", said Gina Nucci, director of corporate marketing for Mann Packing.

Customers who bought the recalled veggies are urged to throw them away or return them for a refund.

In response, Meijer has recalled several dozen products, including broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus, that were sold in six states: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. "This voluntary recall is a reflection of our commitment to ensuring the safety of our consumers".
