Federal Bureau of Investigation searches for NC 3-year-old

Government specialists on Tuesday joined K-9 units and helicopters brushing a country group close to the North Carolina drift where a 3-year-old young lady vanished subsequent to being put to bed.

Mariah Woods is a white girl with brown hair and blue eyes, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's AMBER Alert Program.

Woods said Mariah is adored by the community, calling Mariah her "angel" because she became pregnant with her after getting her tubes tied.

Volunteer firefighters are searching the area of Dawson Cabin Road in Jacksonville.

WITN reports the child was last seen about 6:45 a.m. Monday.

"If anybody knows where she is at or any information, just please call the sheriffs department or notify anybody", said Woods".




Mariah has an orthopedic leg problem, causing her left leg to wobble when she walks. "She is a very sweet, loving girl. So she wouldn't just go with a stranger".

About an hour after that, Woods' boyfriend reportedly saw Mariah when she came out of her room.

The FBI has deployed special agents to aid in the search, a spokesperson for the FBI's Charlotte office told CBS News. Multiple agencies are helping a mother desperate to find her daughter and to bring her home.

Mariah's father, Alex Woods, told NewsChannel 12 that he is not convinced that of his ex-partner's story that Mariah has been abducted.

"The FBI is assisting the Onslow County Sheriff's Office in the search for Mariah", an FBI spokesperson said.
