Blake Griffin ruled out for two months with knee injury

Blake Griffin grimaces in pain after appearing to injure his knee Monday night.

While the team has not announced a specific diagnosis for the star forward, David Aldridge of TNT reports Griffin sprained an MCL on Monday evening, adding that the Clippers are relieved Griffin didn't do more damage during the gruesome sequence.

Griffin, 28, fell down under the basket and clutched his left knee with a little more than three minutes left in the Clippers' 120-115 victory. Get the app and get the game. The Clips are not expected to contend to the extent their previous teams did during the Griffin/CP3 era.

"It didn't look good, obviously", Clippers coach Doc Rivers told reporters.

Jordan's not used to losing, something he hasn't experienced since his early seasons with the Clippers. Still, Griffin will miss a substantial amount of time for the third straight season.

He has sustained several serious injuries through the years, including season-ending toe surgery after Game 3 of the Clippers' first-round loss to Utah in the Western Conference playoffs last season.

"Lonzo was just trying to make a play", Rivers said of Ball, per the Los Angeles Times' Helene Elliott. "We've got to focus on that eighth seed, we can still get it, ' it kind of brings you back down to earth, refocuses you a little bit". I don't care what situation you're in.
