Winter weather advisory issued for Wednesday in central Wisconsin

Heavy snow will hit the mountains to our west Tuesday, with limited snow showers expected to reach the I-95 corridor at times.

The early morning snow across Northeast Ohio resulted from an Alberta clipper, a low-pressure system that tracks quickly southeast from Canada.

A winter storm watch will be in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday for Jefferson and Lewis counties.

Gusty northeast winds on the backside of the departing low pressure system may produce some patchy drifting snow in rural open areas late Wednesday. The heaviest snow accumulation there is expected to late Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. "Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are expected".

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect until 1pm Wednesday for Northern Erie, Niagara, Orleans and Genesee Counties.

The wind chill is forecast to drop below 10 degrees by 10 p.m. tonight in Syracuse and stay that way until mid-morning Friday.

"Wednesday will definately be the coldest day of this season so far", said Mitchell.

Snowfall is expected in Beckley likely beginning in the afternoon with the possibility of snow squalls. Temperatures start chilly in the 20s Saturday and rise closer to, if not a bit above normal by the end of the weekend.
