Instagram To Show 'Recommended' Posts In Feeds From Accounts Users Don't Follow

The only difference is that, until now you had to head to the Explore section to view the recommended posts, and now they will all be cluttering your home feed. As explained by Instagram, these recommendations are based on posts liked by accounts you follow.

Photo-sharing platform Instagram is introducing a "recommended for you" feature - which was so far being tested within a small group - to all users. To introduce more content to its users, Instagram now lets you follow specific hashtags without having to follow the people who are posting under these tags. Furthermore, it seems that the reception to the new feature has been lukewarm, with some reacting with indifference and others expressed their confusion.

Just over a week ago now, Instagram rolled out a new update that allowed for its users easily comment on videos/photos throughout their main feed. They can only temporarily hide the recommended posts.

Instagram said there is going to be five posts suggested containing links to stuff liked by accounts that the user follows. This new feature is not much different from its previous feature that "recommended content". Unfortunately, this would need to be done for each individual "Recommended for You" post that appears in your feed.

Dear @instagram please put everything back in chronological order and stop doing the recommended posts. Same goes for the location; you can add a location to be found in the search and people near you can see your posts.
