Mariah Carey Finally Got Her Hot Tea on New Year's Eve

However it wasn't just her vocals that stole the show, instead, fans went insane when the singer stopped mid set to ask for a hot cup of tea.

One Twitter user wrote, "The first time life throws you a curve in 2018, just remember: Mariah Carey made it through without her hot tea".

"I just want to take a sip of tea if they'll let me", she said, turning to find no tea on stage, per CNN.

"OK, well, we'll just have to rough it", she continued.

Past year it really was a disaster.

Following 2016's disastrous New Year's Eve performance, which saw Mariah plagued by technical issues and lip sync accusations, the elusive chanteuse returned for her redemption storyline, and she delivered... mostly. Before her second song - Hero, from 1993 - it seemed all was not well from her point of view. After greeting the New Year at midnight, she went on to sing a rendition of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York", which was blaring over speakers.

Which isn't to say the weather escaped her notice. "I'm gonna be like everybody else with no hot tea", said Carey.

Later, in the shadiest, most glamorous New Year's photo to ring in 2018, Carey later posted a picture of herself sipping a cup of hot tea from her dressing room.

Despite not having her much needed hot tea before the performance, Mariah gave a stellar show. "She played it off but was a little mad", the insider adds.

Lumping herself with the rest of the masses huddled together for warmth on the frigid December night, Carey soldiered on like the thousands of non-millionaires in her presence and closed out 2017 in style.

One thing that wasn't missing: Carey's boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka.
