Here's What Tommy Wiseau Wanted to Say on Golden Globes Stage

Here's What Tommy Wiseau Wanted to Say on Golden Globes Stage

The actor won an award at the Golden Globes for his performance in The Disaster Artist, but his win was quickly criticized on social media by several people accusing him of various misdeeds. Some women spoke out on Twitter about the "hypocrisy" of James wearing all black and a Time's Up pin in solidarity with the movement.

James Franco wanted to give Tommy Wiseau credit, but he draws the line at airtime. "Said too much", Sheedy tweeted shortly after the ceremony began. Unbeknownst to the actor, he also experienced a surge of backlash on Twitter while accepting his second Globe (he also won Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie for James Dean in 2002). "Please never ever ask me why I left the film/TV business", Sheedy wrote in the last tweet. In a series of since-deleted tweets, actress Ally Sheedy slammed the 39-year-old, who directed her in an off-Broadway production of The Long Shrift in 2014.

HollywoodLifers, what do you think Ally is talking about in her tweets?

- Abstinence Enthusiast (@SortaBad) January 8, 2018 It makes me sick that there are men like James Franco hiding behind Time's Up pins and black suits, claiming to support survivors while they participate in and benefit from misogynist, abusive behaviour.

Days after the story broke on Gawker, Franco appeared on Live With Kelly and Michael and admitted to trying to arrange a hook-up with the girl, though he didn't explain why he had hit on someone who wasn't of legal age. "No one will ask him about his acting school partner or why they suddenly had to close".

That's the lesson Tommy Wiseau, the inspiration behind Franco's directing/star turn in "The Disaster Artist", discovered Sunday night at the Golden Globes. "It's hard to watch someone who hurt you be lavished w/ praise", said former L.A. Weekly writer April Wolfe on Twitter.

Again, no context as to what James, and apparently Christian, allegedly did.
