Meghan Markle Deletes All Social Media Accounts Ahead of Royal Wedding

The social media purge is likely part of Markle's transition to royal life.

Meghan Markle has closed all her social media accounts almost four months before her May wedding to Prince Harry.

"Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years", the palace statement said.

Both the verified Twitter and Instagram accounts for Meghan disappeared this morning, nine months after she made the decision to shut down her lifestyle website, The Tig.

Although in recent years, the royal family has gotten on board with the use of social media in an official sense - Kensington Palace, Clarence House and The Royal Family all have Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts that they use to share updates on members of the family.

The prince and his fiancee visited community station Reprezent FM, which provides media training and experience to young people. You can thank this handle for content like Prince George and Princess Charlotte's official portraits, and Meghan and Harry's engagement photoshoot.

She added that she feels satisfied with her work on the long-running TV series "Suits".

The Palace has already been including Meghan in its public posts, ever since she and Harry announced their engagement.

The couple is planning to Wednesday on May 19, 2018, at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
