Jessica Falkholt life support turned off, remains in critical condition

Jessica, has been in a coma since boxing day after a freak auto accident took the lives of her parents Lars, 69, and Vivian, 60 and her younger sister, Annabelle, 21. Multiple surgeries were performed to save her life, including removing a kidney and part of her skull.

Last night, the Daily Telegraph revealed Jessica's extended family had made a decision to switch off her life support in the hope that she could be woken from her coma. Annabelle died three days later, while Jessica remained in a coma at St. George hospital.

The devastating crash killed her sister Annabelle, 21, and parents Lars, 69, and Vivian, 60, along with Whitall.

Other motorists are said to have risked their lives to pull the Annabelle and Jessica from the wreckage, with both cars bursting into flames shortly afterwards - leaving Mr. and Mrs. Falkholt to be identified through their dental records as their remains were burnt in the fire. All three family members were farewelled at a funeral on Wednesday.

Ms Falkholt and her sister Annabelle were pulled from the crash, as the vehicles went up in flames, but her parents died in the burning auto, along with the 4WD's driver.

Mourners gathered at St Mary's Catholic Church in Concord to farewell Lars, Vivian and Annabelle Falkholt.

Officers could not confirm if Whitall, who also died at the scene, had been using his mobile phone at the time of the crash, according to the Daily Telegraph.

"The irony of this tragedy is that Lars was such a careful driver".

It was the third serious crash between Berry and Ulladulla in recent weeks, including the one in which the Falkholt family were killed.

The driver at the centre of a fatal vehicle crash, which tore the Falkholt family apart, had been jailed four times and had over 60 serious traffic convictions to his name.
