Lynyrd Skynyrd Doing One Last Tour

This morning, Southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd chose to call it quits and announced plans for a final farewell tour, which will kick off in their home state of Florida.

This summer will be the classic rock band's final tour around the country. The band took a decade-long hiatus before reuniting for a tour and live album.

Tickets go on sale starting February 2 at 10 a.m. local time through LiveNation, however, tickets for the July 20th show in Mansfield, Mass. go on sale at 11 a.m. local time and tickets for the August 10 show in Detroit go on sale February 3 at 10 a.m. local time. Charlie Daniels Band, Bad Company, Marshall Tucker Band, and, unsurprisingly, Kid Rock are among some of the special guests to appear on tour.




"We've been blessed by these great songs and the messages they carry to the fans". The lineup now includes Gary Rossington and Johnny Van Zant, Ronnie's brother.

The legendary rock band (minus a few original members) will play at Cincinnati's Riverbend Music Center on August 17. Its first album, 1973's "Pronounced 'Leh-'nerd 'Skin-'nerd", included numerous band's most popular hits, like "Free Bird", "Simple Man" and "Gimme Three Steps".

Lynyrd Skynyrd first rose to prominence in the 1970s with some of its biggest hits such as "Free Bird", "Sweet Home Alabama", and "Simple Man".
