French Ice Dancer Gabriella Papadakis Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction at Winter Olympics 2018

Plus, as notes, footage of the incident was replayed on screens around the arena, and live on television, which must've been pretty daunting for the Olympic skater.

Recently a famous French figure skater Gabriella Papadakis revealed about her "worst nightmare" as she suffered a wardrobe malfunction during her performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Papadakis, 22, had just begun her short dance routine with partner Guillaume Cizeron when her top appeared to come unclasped from around her neck, exposing her breast.

It's the second time during the Games that costumes have been an issue for skaters, with South Korea's Yura Min having a similar experience in her short dance routine last Sunday. Papadakis later said she knew immediately that the wardrobe malfunction had occurred, but did not interrupt her routine to correct it.

During the final level of her performance, this mishap took place and the worst happened is that it got telecasted on global TV.

"It wasn't easy to get back on the ice today but I think we were ready for whatever after what happened yesterday", Cizeron said. "But I am proud that we managed to achieve [what we did], despite this kind of difficulty".

Papadakis seemed satisfied with how well she kept her composure, but Cizeron was critical of the judges, believing that they were punished for the wardrobe malfunction. "It's just frustrating to miss a few points because of the costume issue".

"I felt it right away, and then I prayed".

Papadakis was embarrassed leaving the rink after the performance, but the two still finished in second place. She altered the routine to prevent the costume from completely slipping off. She and Cizeron scored 81.93 points to finish second behind Canadian stars Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. They have won three gold medals on the Grand Prix series.

The video also has been re-edited for all television encores and online replays. 'I told myself, "I don't have a choice".

She conceded afterwards that it was "hard to stay concentrated after the costume malfunctioned" but to their credit they still pulled out an impressive score.
