Kane limps out of Bournemouth clash

Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted he can only wait and hope an ankle injury suffered by talismanic striker Harry Kane isn't serious.

Kane couldn't continue after injuring his ankle in a collision with Bournemouth keeper Asmir Begovic shortly before Dele Alli cancelled out Junior Stanislas' opener for the Cherries.

A Bournemouth ball boy was given a stern telling off after attempting to hold up play by throwing the ball at Jan Vertonghen during Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham.

"It was a flawless answer after a massive disappointment against Juventus", Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said.

Arsenal eased their way past Watford 3-0, marking their first clean sheet in 12 league matches and settling nerves at the Emirates after a string of losses in 2018. "He helped the team achieve three points".

"Of course I worry about him, his ankle we hope it is not a massive issue for him and the team and hope he can recover as soon as possible and be available".

Kane has scored 35 goals this season and he is tied with Mohamed Salah on 24 goals in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Kane missed a total of 10 weeks last season after injuring the same ankle on two separate occasions.

England's opening game is against Tunisia in Volgograd on June 18th.

Tottenham are still in the FA Cup but Spurs will have to get past Swansea City in the FA Cup quarter-finals as Mauricio Pochettino looks to win his first piece of silverware at White Hart Lane.

In the 29th minute, Spurs thought they had equalised after Kane had the ball inside the net from Christian Eriksen's cross but the flag went up for offside.

Bournemouth started positively and nearly took the lead in the fourth minute when Junior Stanislas broke through on goal and rounded the keeper, but he saw his effort come back off the post.

Gloss was added to the scoreline in stoppage time when Aurier took advantage of Begovic flapping at Kieran Trippier's cross to nod in a fourth. "A winning mentality is the most important".
