Severe Weather Threat Continues This Evening

Severe Weather Threat Continues This Evening

Unseasonably warm and humid weather will continue today ahead of a strong cold front approaching from the west. Showers and storms will start to fire up ahead of the front. Windy conditions will persist again throughout the day.

There is still a 60% chance for showers and a few more storms tonight. An isolated thunderstorm is not out of the question. Storms are expected to produce 40 to 60 miles per hour wind gusts and isolated gusts between 60 and 70 miles per hour. Chilly lows north around 48 and south around 50.

The central USA experienced a severe storms outbreak on Friday.

At 1 p.m., thunderstorms were just beginning to appear along the western edge of coverage of Shreveport weather radar.

The possibility of tornadoes or hail are listed as low, but with the enhanced risk, isolated tornadoes can not be ruled out. Flooding is listed as a lesser threat, with the exception of localized flooding from periods of heavy rain. Lows Monday will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s.

Cooler and more tranquil weather will arrive for Monday.

That's not all, it's also packing a severe weather threat with numerous tornado and severe t-storm watches in place. While we have a pretty good idea about where the strongest storms may develop, figuring out which one storm will be the strongest isn't possible.

Wednesday is expected to have a high of 81 and a low of 54.

However, sunshine returns Tuesday and temperatures will climb back into the low 60s!

They'll then push into the Greenville/Asheville areas around noon, and then east to Spartanburg and surrounding areas by 2 PM and finally push east of our area around 4 PM. There isn't a whole lot of moisture available, so we'll be mainly dry.

Partly to Mostly cloudy, breezy, warm and humid with a 20% chance for a shower or storm. Nighttime temperatures will be in the middle 50s amid blustery south winds sustained at 25 to 30 miles per hour, gusting up to 45 miles per hour and potentially higher in a few storms.
