Plane passenger was repeatedly Tasered after being told to leave a flight

In February, an American Airlines passenger was detained after chasing airport employees on the tarmac at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Once law enforcement was on the aircraft, the passenger then became combative with the officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department. As a result, crew informed the passengers that they would have to deplane as officers would come aboard to arrest the Chicago man. As the flight crew was deboarding the plane, a fight broke out between Garcia and the other passengers.

According to police, the altercation began when Garcia touched a woman without her permission and began to argue with the woman's boyfriend.

Fellow passenger Jabari Ennis, 37, who works in IT, recorded the moment the unruly passenger was forced off the flight.

He was then hit with repeated rounds of the Taser until he was finally subdued and handcuffed.

Officer Roody Desroches, who is holding Garcia by the collar of his blue plaid shirt, agrees, and gives Garcia a heads-up: "I'm about to tase you!" he says, discharging the electronic control weapon.

During the transportation of Garcia from the plane to the terminal, officers had to carry him while he verbally chastised everyone around. The crowd cheers when they drove him away'. This allowed him to be taken into custody.

American said the passenger was ultimately arrested by law enforcement officials.

According to a report from ABC 7 Chicago, a witness was able to capture the incident on video, where a man identified as 28-year-old Chicago resident Jacob Garcia got into an altercation with another passenger.

"In accordance with our procedures, American began the process of deplaning the entire aircraft.

Why am I being removed from this plane?" he asked in one of the videos, while being Tased.

We will cooperate with the Miami-Dade Police Department on this matter.

Garcia further delayed his departure - as well as the flight's - by entwining his legs with the aircraft seats.

Garcia was charged with felony battery, depriving an officer of a firearm, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
