Tom Brokaw Slams Sexual Misconduct Claims as

Former "Today" anchor Ann Curry told the newspaper that she complained to NBC management on behalf of a woman who alleged improper behavior by Lauer.

Curry left the "Today" show in 2012, the same year that she reported Lauer, who was her co-host.

Savannah Guthrie anchored tonight's newscast, filling in for Lester Holt, with Kate Snow reporting on their longtime colleague. "And I was sitting at a borrowed desk, when I received a computer message from Tom Brokaw asking me what I was doing that night", she said in a statement.

Brokaw was writing in response to stories in The Post and Variety in which a former NBC correspondent, Linda Vester, alleged that Brokaw sexually harassed her in the 1990s on two separate occasions, once in NY and once in London. I fully acknowledge that I acted inappropriately as a husband, father and principal at NBC.

Tom Brokaw, the former news anchor who was accused of allegedly making unwanted sexual advances against multiple women in the 1990s, has reportedly dropped out as the commencement speaker for Sacred Heart University.

The letter was circulated after former NBC News correspondent Linda Vester said she was "groped and assaulted by Tom Brokaw". She said that once in a hallway in the mid-1990s, Brokaw approached her in a small enclave, commented that her hands were cold, then put her hands under his jacket against him and pulled her in close.

In a statement to The Post, Vester's lawyer said that "my client stands by the allegations which speak for themselves". Brokaw sent a disparaging email to his peers at NBC.

Vester was in her 20's at the time of the incident, and Brokaw denied such actions happened with Vester.

The women say he has treated all of them with fairness and respect, giving them opportunities for advancement and championing successes in their careers.

Vester spoke with both the Washington Post and Variety about her allegations. "She has unleashed a torrent of unsubstantiated criticism and attacks on me". She also mentioned she was Catholic as a way of rebuffing his advances. Vester remained at Fox News until 2006. That move she so vividly describes is NOT WHO I AM.

"Once again, our highest priority is to ensure we have a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected".

Vester told the Post she does not intend to sue Brokaw or NBC. I don't recall saying, 'Ok.' I just remember being frozen.

In his memo Friday, Mr. Lack said the review-led by NBC General Counsel Kim Harris, whom he said "has extensive experience in conducting reviews of this kind"-is nearing its conclusion, with findings to be shared as soon as next week".
