'Fortnite Battle Royale' Season 4 patch brought some big changes

Season 4 of Fortnite has arrived and the long-running mystery of the comet is finally revealing itself.

The launch of Season 4 comes with the Season 4 Battle Pass, which includes additional cosmetic items, but for those interested in player-versus-environment "Save the World" Fortnite, there's plenty for you to enjoy, as well.

Fortnite's v4.0 patch features a boatload of changes but it all starts with the comet which has been slamming into the map and altering the landscape.

It has been replaced with Dusty Divot, an area which hosts some brand new gameplay options rolled out for Fortnite Season 4.

With the Comet's arrival, Dusty Depot has been obliterated by the Comet and been replaced with an impact site called Dusty Divot.

Hop Rocks: The comet has left a mark on the island.Visit the crater and you'll find glowing rocks all around.

Consume them and lift off with low gravity!

The patch notes still haven't gone live, but there's already a new Battle Pass, of course, and everyone gets two outfits this time around as soon as it's purchased.

Although there are seven challenges each week, you can only complete four out of the seven Weekly Challenges to unlock your rewards, so choose the challenges that best fit your style and those offering the most Battle Stars. In keeping with the cinematic theme of season 4, you'll find a movie set in the mire. If you open the map after falling from the Battle Bus, you'll immediately see a huge crater in the area Dusty Depot was.

Following a period of downtime in the early morning hours, Fortnite is now back up and season 4 has begun for Battle Royale players.

The emote is unlocked once players reach tier 26 and as it is available on the free version of the Battle pass which means that it is available to all players in the game. The Fortnite servers are now down and will go live soon with season 4 in effect in Fortnite Battle Royal.

Once again, there will be 100 tiers to progress though as you earn experience points and level up. In the Season 4, maps have also been changed along with the iOS players' ability to drag and drop the inventory items.
