SACA Boss Says He's "Quietly Confident" About An India Day-Night Test

SACA Boss Says He's

The powerful Board of Control for Cricket in India has been opposed to the day-night Test innovation started by Australia in 2015.

Cricket Australia (CA) said it was continuing discussions with the BCCI with a view to playing their first day-night test in Adelaide from December 6-10.

Adelaide has hosted D/N Tests in the last three years against New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and England.

Cricket Australia boss James Sutherland admitted it was "pretty clear that the Gabba has slipped down the rankings a little bit" after announcing Brisbane would instead host Sri Lanka in a day-night Test in January.

"The CoA spoke to Ravi Shastri (the Indian team head coach) on 12 April and Shastri categorically mentioned that he has consulted with the team and the team is not ready to play pink-ball cricket just now".

Women's global cricket will bookend the summer, with Australia playing three T20Is against New Zealand in September-October - which leads into the women's World T20 in the West Indies in November - and then a three-match ODI series against the same opponents in February-March.

It was in 2016 when BCCI tinkered the format of the tournament and organized the tournament with a pink ball, in hopes of Indian cricket team playing with pink ball soon.

Cricket Australia has released its schedule with Australia to play Sri Lanka in a Test at the Gabba starting on January 24, meaning Adelaide misses out on the Australia Day slot.

Test dates were confirmed on Monday, but the day-night option is still being negotiated.

Australia and India play their second test at the new Perth Stadium in Burswood, across the Swan river from the city's traditional test venue, the WACA.

The day test match will commence on Friday 1st of February and will be the second and final test of the two-game series against Sri Lanka.

"The Gabba was that once and I'm sure it will be again. there's nothing to say that in the future the first test of an Ashes series won't continue to be at the Gabba".

Australian Cricketers' Association CEO Alistair Nicholson welcomed the increased scheduling of women's cricket.
