Nokia X6 launch today, teaser highlights iPhone X display style

After weeks of rumours about what was being referred to as the Nokia X, HMD has officially launched the notch-toting Nokia X6 at an event in Beijing, China. It is powered by the Snapdragon 636 mobile platform and comes with a dual rear camera setup.

Like every other mid-range smartphone released so far this year, HMD Global is also keen to tout Nokia X6's AI-powered photography features. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. RAM options for the device can be either 4GB or 6GB, while the internal storage options can be 32GB or 64GB (expandable upto 256GB).

On the back of the X6 you'll find a dual-rear camera setup, comprising of a 16MP main and 5MP monochrome lenses, both of which have f/2.0 apertures. The front-facing camera also features a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.




The battery is evaluated at 3,060 mAh and it's charged over a USB-C connector up to Quick Charge 3.0 rates. Nokia X6 is one of the most awaited smartphones.The phone will come in three variants and that too at affordable rates. At the same time, 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant will be sold at CNY 1,499 (about 16,000 INR). The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version will cost Yuan 1699 which is almost Rs 18,100. Most of what we already knew about the device from a past leak has also become official. The rear camera has 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors that lack Zeiss branding for a change, while the selfie cam has a 16-megapixel sensor. The company has also announced that the camera module comes with AI capabilities to improve the photo and video-capturing experience of the users with some advanced features like face recognition, lighting effects, optimized color contrast, depth of field and HDR support.

The back of the device houses a 16MP camera capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps. The 4GB RAM model packs 32GB and 64GB internal storage while the 6GB RAM variant packs 64GB internal storage. The device will go on sale starting May 21st in China.

The other features that are available on the Nokia X6 include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack and Global Positioning System.
